1. A little overview:
1.1. short description:
This program has been conceived to accompany Yves Maniette's book «Les kanji dans la tête» , however it covers much more than this usage and can be used with other learning methods, it implements a particular learning method.This software is based on flashcards, it handles kanji and vocabulary cards. kanji cards contain
- the kanji
- a list of book indexes
- a list of keywords (one per lang), it is in fact one of the translations of the word.
- a list of nicknames, they are the significations given to the kanji when used as part of others.
- kun and ON readings and their translations
- a list of vocabulary words, not to learn vocabulary but to help memory
- the word in kanji
- the word in kana
- its translation
1.2. features:
- oji is multilingual, multibook and its interface is fully internationalized
- easy to use interface (after reading the tutorial because it is very specialized)
- follows modern HIG (human interface guidelines), for example, options are instantly applied
- easy flashcard viewing and editing
- smart textual search and radical/strokes search
- it comes with french, english and russian data, Yves Maniette's book numbers, skip codes and kanji frequencies
- there is a complete tutorial included
- oji is available on linux, windows and macosx
1.3. what oji is not:

- "|" -> "%v"
- ";" -> "%s"
